Oyster and Seafood Festival Returns to Mumbles

The ever popular Oyster and Seafood Festival is returning to Mumbles.

Organised by Mumbles Development Trust and Mumbles Traders Association, in association with the Welsh Government and Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay Plc, the event will celebrate the heritage of the Mumbles Oyster and Inshore Fisheries of Mumbles, Gower and Swansea Bay. It is scheduled to take place from Thursday 16th – Sunday 19th October at Southend Gardens, Mumbles Road, Mumbles.

The four day spectacle will include live music, cooking demonstrations, a local produce market and marine themed workshops for school children. A full schedule of events will be confirmed shortly.

Robin Bonham of Mumbles Development Trust says:

“Our event last year attracted over 6000 visitors over the three day period. This year is set to be even better with something for everyone as we celebrate all that this wonderful area has to offer. Fresh oysters will be available all weekend with entertainment for all the family. Working in association with Welsh Government, the European Fisheries Fund through the Welsh Government and Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay, we are really looking forward to hosting a festival that celebrates our heritage and our future.”

Ioan Jenkins of Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay Plc adds:

“We are delighted to be supporting this fantastic event for the second year. We have been working with the organisers and are very grateful for the support that they, and local residents, have given our plans for Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon.”
