Roger is Managing Director at Schaeffler (UK) Ltd – part of a global manufacturing company based in Wales, supplying the automotive sector.
Roger led a Culture Change Programme whereby learning and development was established as key to improving business performance. The increased productivity and adaptability achieved has secured new investment into the plant and transfer of product from Eastern Europe back to the UK. Roger was awarded an MBE in 2009 for services to Engineering and in July 2012 received an Honorary Fellowship from Swansea Metropolitan University.
He is actively involved in variety of Industry, Educational and Charitable Organisations:
Roger is a Regional Council Member of EEF Cymru, Director of the Welsh Automotive Forum, and South Wales Chairman for SEMTA. Roger is also Director of the Wales Management Council, Chairman of Wales Quality Centre, Director of Industry Wales and a Member of St Athan & Cardiff Airport Enterprise Zone Board.
Roger is the Chair of Governors for Coleg Sir Gar, Council Member of the University of Wales Trinity St David, Member of the Swansea University Second Campus Board, Governor of Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr and Director of Engineering Education Scheme Wales and member of the C Scope Supply Chain Initiative, University of South Wales. Roger is also Trustee of the Ray Gravell and Friends Charitable Trust and WCADA Addiction Charity.
Most Recently, Roger has been elected as Chair of the independent Tidal Lagoon Industry Advisory Group supporting the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon Project.
