Joining Tidal Lagoon Power in May 2014, Heather’s previous role was HR Manager for Ovo Energy, where she played an integral part in growing and developing an HR Department to support the business in its early stages of growth. Whilst working at Ovo Energy she also completed her CIPD qualification in Human Resource Management in 2012 and is now an associate member of the CIPD. Previous to this role Heather worked for GE Aviation, Motorola and TAC Europe, managing all their UK permanent and contract recruitment needs.

As Head of HR for TLP Heather’s role and responsibilities are to manage the HR function and team. The HR function is responsible for supporting the business on workforce planning, succession planning, organisational structure and to support and advise on the overall business strategy. The HR function is responsible for all recruitment needs ensuring we have the right capabilities to support the company objectives as well as designing and implementing a rewards package that ensures retention by recognising employee’s performance as well as company performance. The HR function is an integral part in supporting line managers in identifying training and development needs within their teams, which in turn will improve and build on employee performance and succession planning. Heather and her team are also there to offer advice to employees and line managers on employee relations, offering solutions to improve engagement and well-being within the company. The HR function is also responsible for ensuring we are compliant, and all company polices are in line, with current legislation.
