Andrew Manley spent the majority of his career in various commercial and leadership roles with Royal Dutch Shell Plc. He has worked in many different countries with permanent assignments in Indonesia, Paraguay, Argentina, Canada and the Netherlands. Andrew was previously the Commercial Director of Shell UK Limited and a Vice President of Shell Oil Products Latin America and latterly the project director for Shell’s downstream, global integration programme. In 2010 he joined the UK Ministry of Defence as Commercial Director and latterly as the first CEO of the newly formed Defence Infrastructure Organisation, whose management was subsequently privatised.
Andrew joined Tidal Lagoon Power in 2015 as International Director with responsibility for technological and commercial opportunities for Tidal Lagoon Power worldwide and additionally playing a major role in developing government and investor relations in the UK.
Andrew holds a doctorate in Marine Science from the University of Wales and an MBA from the London Business School. He is also an honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Andrew has specialised over his career in business start-ups, development and restructuring projects and was responsible for the development of the major commercial project academy within Shell for four years. Additionally, Andrew is a non-executive director of Symatrix Limited, an Oracle systems consultancy.
