Paul brings over 20 years of stakeholder engagement and community relationship management experience developed through his involvement in major infrastructure projects in France and New Zealand, including high speed rail deployment initiatives in eastern France and rural broadband and 3G wireless rollouts across New Zealand. Paul has also worked in marketing and communications roles in foreign affairs, destination marketing and built heritage management. He has lived in France for close to 15 years and has extensive contacts with a wide range of political, business and community stakeholders across the country.
As Development Director for Northern France, Paul is responsible for identifying and engaging with key stakeholders at local, regional and national level and developing an engagement and communications strategy to build awareness of, and support for, tidal lagoon development opportunities in Northern France. In addition to stakeholder engagement his tasks include building understanding of the administrative, political and legal frameworks for tidal lagoon developments in France, coordinating research and analysis of environmental issues and opportunities, ensuring local feedback and intelligence is aligned with lagoon design iterations, and developing and implementing a strategy to influence public policy in favour of tidal lagoons.
