Teresa Cotton joined TLP and TLSB in September 2013 as the Financial Controller. Teresa is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and her career began with Mazars LLP, one of the largest accountancy firms in the UK. During her 10 years with Mazars, Teresa gained experience in a range of finance disciplines including audit, forensics, tax and corporate finance; these services were provided to a multitude of different businesses across a broad range of sectors.
Teresa chose to leave accountancy practice and moved into industry, becoming Finance Director for a security company who installed and maintained security systems throughout the UK for both the residential and commercial market. Working with blue chip companies and high street names, Teresa led the finance team through a challenging financial period.
As Financial Controller, Teresa’s role is to manage the finance function including the team and financial controls across all companies within our group. The finance function is responsible for accurate budgeting and forecasting, management and stakeholder reporting, statutory reporting and supporting the corporate finance team on due diligence. The finance function is also responsible for all day to day processing of costs, payroll, expenses, VAT and budgeting and treasury management.
